When you take the driving license theory test, you know that your nerves should stay outside the room where you take the test. But when you go out, they wrap you up: have I passed? What if I have failed? When do I get the note? How do I know if I have passed the theory? Do I have to request the practical car classes now?
Don't worry, the first step is to pass the theoretical exam and this, as long as you are prepared and don't fall into the traps set by the DGT, it is easy to pass. But, even easier to know the result as soon as possible.
The theoretical driving test, the first step to obtain the license
As you know, Getting your driver's license requires passing two mandatory tests. In fact, you cannot do one without having approved the other. We are talking about a theoretical exam in which they ask you about the driving code, signage, etc.; and the practical test in which you will have to drive the driving school car so that they evaluate your driving style.
This implies that it is not “sewing and singing”. Although many people take very little time to get it out, because they learn quickly or because they already knew it, many others take time. And sometimes nerves can play tricks on you.
The first of the exams that is done is the theoretical one.. There is no exact date to do it, although, when you enroll in the driving school you do have a period of x months to present yourself and get your license. Thus, it can take a week, two, a month, two... always it is recommended that you do it when you really feel ready and also the tests that you do for practice do not have more than 2 errors.
Once done, how do I know if I have passed the theory? You don't have to keep calling the driving school over and over again so they can tell you if they already have the results. Actually, you can see it yourself in the DGT. How? We explain it to you.
I have done the theory, when do they give me the note?
Once you leave the room where the theoretical driving test has been carried out, you are assailed by doubts and fears of knowing if you have passed or not.
The truth is that it depends on how the test was carried out. You'll see: if you have done it on a computer, so the results of this are published after 17.00:XNUMX p.m. of that same day; if it has been on paper, the results will be, at a minimum, from 17.00:XNUMX p.m. the next day.
Now, in this second case it means that they can be there the next day, but it is not a normal one, that is, they can be there the next day, two days, three days, a week...
If it is on paper, arm yourself with patience because it may take a while.
What happens if I get distracted and don't look?
It may be the case that you present yourself to the theoretician and go on vacation without wanting to know the grade. Can you watch it later? Yes, and no... We'll explain.
In the DGT IExam results are posted for two weeks. Therefore, if you do not look at the notes before those two weeks, they will disappear and you will not know the result. Implying? You should try to talk to the DGT or your driving school to try to get the note, although it is normal for the driving school itself to have this on its computers, so there is not much of a problem.
How to know if I have passed the theory
You already know the term in which they can give you the theoretician's note. But what if you want to watch? It can?
The truth is that yes, and it is quite easy thanks to the Internet because what you have to do is enter the DGT page. Specifically, you have to go to sede.dgt.gob.es/en/driving-licences/exam-notes.
That page takes you right to the section we want. And here you can choose two options:
- Without certificate. Where you will have to provide some information so that they give you the note.
- Face-to-face Where you would have to go to consult it in person at the DGT.
As we want it to be easy and fast, you should choose the first option.
What do they ask to access the theoretician's note?
As we have told you before, the option without a certificate allows you to see your theory grade but, before showing it to you, It will ask you for a series of data to make sure it's you. What data? The following:
- NIF / NIE. That is, the ID number you have.
- Exam date. The exact day you showed up. Here you just have to put that, they don't need where you did it.
- Permit class. If you have taken the exam for A, B, C, D... The one for motorcycles is A and the one for cars is B. The others are cards for larger vehicles (trucks, buses...).
- Birthdate. It is the last piece of information that they ask you for and it is to make sure that it really is you.
If everything is correct, you will get a screen in which you will see these data:
- Personal information. That is, name, surname, ID... yours so that you can check that they are correct (if there is an error, it is better that you correct it as soon as possible).
- Type test. In case you are not only going to see if you have passed the theoretical one, but also the practical one.
- Exam date. When did you examine yourself?
- Qualification. This is the most requested data. And here you should know that, if it says "Apt" you have passed the theory. If it says "Not suitable" you will have to go back to study to present yourself again.
- Made mistakes. This refers to whether you have made any mistakes in the theoretical exam (or in the practical exam) and what they have been.
How to see the mistakes I've made?
Many people, even approving, They want to know what mistakes they have made in order to learn from them. And since the DGT knows that those who suspend them also want to consult them, they have enabled that section so that you can see it, but in an “encrypted” way. And it is that they won't tell you exactly what you've done wrong, but the seriousness of the errors.
Yes, they will only tell you about the practical exam, in the theory you can put the number of errors, but it will not specify what questions have been.
As for pilot errors, you have three:
- Elimination keys. They are serious offenses that, if you commit them, the examiner can stop the test and suspend you on the spot.
- Deficient. Only two are allowed because they are errors that are a hindrance.
- Mild They allow you up to 10 and are the softest.
You already know the answer to how to know if I have passed the theory. We wish you luck when you look at it and that you can present yourself soon to the pilot.
