What's up friends! 😀 They have passed almost 3 long months since my last blog post, time in which I was practically unable to write for various reasons, but at the wrong time hurry up, we are here back and always wanting to share information that may be useful in our day by day in front of the screen.
In this post we will see how to solve a task that is sometimes necessary for us, it is about set password to batch PDF documents, that is, put a password to many PDF files in bulk, quickly and with a couple of clicks.
And to help us achieve that goal, we will use free software for Windows, which has personally gotten me out of trouble many times. It's about the good Free PDF Protector 4dots. The name says it all, the ideal tool to protect PDFs.
Comment that with this program you can protect PDF documents in batch, you can define passwords both to open as well as to establish other permissions, among them: allow to copy content, modify, print, etc. Even entire folders with PDF documents and their subfolders can be selected to protect.
The use of this program is quite intuitive, by the way it has the option to change the language from English (by default) to many others, although Spanish does not have a good translation, so I recommend keeping the original language. In the following image I have marked the 4 main steps for its use.
- Add files, you can also add folders with the 'Add Folder' button.
- Set passwords to open and / or set owner permissions.
- Define output folder. By default it is the same one that contains the PDF document.
- Protect PDF documents.
PDF files can also be dragged and dropped directly into the program.
Among its various options, if you wish, you can set different permissions (Permissions), choose the encryption strength (Encryption Strength) or modify the metadata information of the documents (Document Info).
Free PDF Protector 4dots It has a size of 8.9 MB, during its installation the protection option can be integrated in the contextual menu. It is compatible with Windows 10, 7, 8, 8.1, XP, both 32-bit and 64-bit versions.
Free and adware-free program 😉

To you for the comment Manuel 😀
Is there a way to put different passwords for each pdf?
Eduardo, with this program it is not possible to do it. I will be looking for alternatives and if there are, I will place them in this same post.
Something similar, but for Mac? Funny!
please, we are pending ,,, it needs to be different for pdf ,, we thank you
Have you been lucky? Has anyone got any software to put different passwords to a set of pdfs?
I also seek to put a different password for each single click file.
I require the same thing, assigning different passwords to each batch file, for example, each recipient must password their document ID in order to open it. I can't find how to do it
Thank you
Hi Juan, could you find this way to put different passwords? 🙁 I still suffer with this issue
