When Windows starts, the system services and device drivers are loaded, which are essential for the proper functioning and stability of the computer. But those of us who out of curiosity know a little more about Windows processes, we know that there are some that do not deserve to start automatically, simply because we do not need them and by disabling it we are able to free up the consumption of resources that they do.
One of these devourers by heart, is the wmpnetwk.exe process or service, located in the directory "C: Program FilesWindows Media Playerwmpnetwk.exe". What is it for? It's a Windows Media Player network sharing service.
The definition of the system itself tells us:
Share Windows Media Player libraries with other media devices and network players using Universal Plug and Play.
Now does anyone use Windows Media Player to share libraries? It is very likely not, sometimes this service (which appears as a process in the Task Manager) consumes up to 10 MB of memory, so if you want to disable it from the automatic start of the system pay attention to the following.
Disable wmpnetwk.exe in Windows 7
Step 1. In the start menu type and search for "services.msc”(Without quotes), or with the Win + R console as is more comfortable for you.
Step 2. In the services panel, look for the following: Windows Media Player Network Sharing Services, right click on it and then on Stop. Wait a few seconds for the process to finish.
Step 3. Right click on the service again and go to Properties. In "Startup type" change to Manual. Apply> OK to save the changes and voila !!!
Now the next time you start your team, the wmpnetwk.exe process it will not charge.
I always recommend taking a look at all the processes we have running, seeing their consumption (important) and familiarizing ourselves with their names. In addition, we should investigate any that seem suspicious, so as not to get any unpleasant surprises later
