If you are a user of Google's web browser, you should know that not only do you have a browser with beautiful colors, simple and fast, but that you also have various tools that can be useful for your day-to-day work, such is the case of integrated PDF viewer. Did you know that it is not limited only to reading PDFs?
Well, in this new entry I will show you what other uses you can give it, so that you avoid having to resort to third-party programs and do it with what you have at your fingertips; the good and almighty Chrome.
But first ... it is important that you check if you have enabled this viewer, which is already integrated, to do this open a new tab and go to the following address:
chrome: // plugins /
In this way you will access the add-ons section, scroll until you find «Chrome PDF Viewer» and make sure that it is enabled and that the 'always allow'.
If everything is correct, you are ready to use the following tools 🙂
1. Extract / split pages from a PDF
Many times we download a PDF document from the Internet and we are only interested in some pages, in that case it is not necessary to look for a program to extract pages, you can easily do it with Chrome by following the steps below:
1.1 Drag the file into the browser to open it
1.2 Press the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + P or click on the floating printer icon, which is located at the bottom of the page, in the lower right corner.
1.3 You will access the virtual Chrome printer. In the option «Destination«, Click the« buttonChange«.
And select «Save as PDF«.
At this point is the most important thing, which is where you should define the pages you want to extract, as the example itself indicates: from page 1 to 5, only 8, from 11 to 13 or whatever you prefer.
1.4 One final click on the Save button and voila, you will have successfully split a PDF file.
2. Rotate a PDF document with Chrome
Here the procedure is much simpler and faster, you must right click on the PDF that you have open and choose between «turn right»Or«turn left«.
3. Save websites as PDF
With Google Chrome you no longer need to install extensions / add-ons, use web applications or desktop programs. The browser itself allows you to save any web page as a nice portable document file, or PDF which is the same 😀
The procedure is repeated by accessing the printer with the Ctrl + P keys and in the 'Destination' section you change to the option «Save as PDF«
Among the complementary options you can define the orientation (vertical-horizontal), paper size, type of margins (if you want to include them), if you want it to include a header and footer, and finally the background graphics that the web page has .
As a fourth tool, it is likely that using Google Chrome you can also unlock PDF files, that is to say, remove the restriction not to modify and print that their authors sometimes establish.
Tell us, did you know this edition of PDFs with Chrome? Can you share another trick? 😉
