How to Reorder Desktop Icons (Windows)

Chaos! Your desktop icons are all jumbled up. This could be due to a change in screen resolution, a game running or crashing, a program installation, or simply an unpredictable operating system error. What can you do about this unexpected and annoying situation?

Every user likes to keep their desktop icons well organized, everything in its place, but the truth is that no one is immune to being a victim of an inevitable icon mess ; however, the solution is simpler than it seems.

Next, I'll share my two favorite apps for rearranging desktop icons , keeping their positions exactly as they were before the mess.

DesktopOK

DesktopOK

Free program, portable and available in several languages, including Spanish. In its first execution you will see that the interface will be in German, to change the language click on the flag icon, located in the lower left corner.

Once this is done, the first step is to save the current position of the desktop icons, for this, a click on the "Save" button is enough. Now the next time your icons get messed up, just choose "Restore" and voila, you will see the changes immediately.

This is an application available in English and other languages (not yet Spanish), but just as intuitive to use. In the previous screenshot we see the respective icons to save the pattern of the icons and restore them easily.

A useful and interesting feature of ReIcon is the ability to add an item to the context menu that allows access to icon restoration and saving options . To enable it, go to Options > Add Context Menu . There, you can define whether you want it to appear when you right-click on the desktop or on the Computer (My Computer) icon.

Tell them that both applications are free, do not require installation and are distributed for download in a Zip file of a few KB in size.
