El Memo pad o notepad Windows, there is no doubt that it has been forgotten, because we see that it currently maintains its original design, menus and functionalities since its inception, we are talking about previous versions such as Windows 95/98. There is little or nothing of benefit, taking into account that it is widely used and required by programmers, or users who work with plain text.
In this sense, we are forced to use more efficient alternatives, such as Notepad + + to name just a more advanced and useful editor. However, it is good to know that there is a possibility of replace Notepad For more advanced editors, which ones?… Here are 3 editors that I think are the best replacements:
- AkelPad: It's about a powerful text editor, Open Source, lightweight (803 KB) and multilanguage that includes Spanish. It is compatible with Windows from version 95 onwards, including Windows Seven.
It stands out for the use of eyelashes, multiple windows in a single interface, with support for many plugins for various purposes available on your website (nice page layout by the way), among other cool programming features.
At the time of installing AkelPad we will have 3 options: install it as an independent program, as a complement to Total Commander and finally as a replacement for the Windows notepad. I recommend this last option.
- notepad2: Too powerful text editor with wide format support and programming languages, the most popular (PHP, C ++, HTML, ASP, CSS ...) and with color code for their syntax.
Includes function support Drag and drop (drag-and-drop) and in its interface an advanced toolbar with Zoom, scheme picker, word wrap, window transparency, minimize to systray, various keyboard shortcuts, among other notable features.
notepad2 es Open Source, light also of few KB, compatible with all version of Windows, available only in English in its recent version, although in previous versions it can be obtained in Spanish.
- Win32Pad: Although it has already become a discontinued editor as far as updates are concerned, it includes improvements and advantages over the default Notepad in Windows. With DOS-Unix-Mac file format support, new instances (windows), Zoom toolbar and minimization to notification area or system tray. It is also compatible with a wide range of programming languages, including: Java, ASP, C++, PHP, SQL, VB, among many others. It's free of course, its 71 KB installer file.
So far my suggestions for replace NotepadYou friends will decide which one is your favorite, put each one to the test and if you have any other alternative, feel free to comment here to add it to the list of alternatives to Windows notepad.
