Officially, and without needing to access the Developer app , Facebook has announced that its users can now access their timeline , the much-anticipated new profile design also known as Facebook Timeline . What's new? A complete overhaul of the profile design, now presented in a timeline format, as the title suggests, chronologically showcasing the most important events; in other words, like a mini-diary, a resume, or a catalog , I'd say, of our best moments since joining Facebook.
The design structure is quite different, and it will probably take some getting used to. One thing worth noting is that we can add a photo or image as a cover photo to our bio, just like a blog header or logo. Our profile picture is now displayed as a thumbnail, and our friends, photos, videos, map, likes—in short, all our information—is in one organized place. I recommend previewing it at this link before activating it.
How to activate Facebook Timeline or Biography?
- Go to Facebook Timeline. Here you will find a video and a preview of the new design and all the related information about the bio.
- Click 'Get the bio'.
With a couple of clicks you will be redirected to your new biographical design, where you should first click on ' Publish now ' or if you wish to take a tour of the new design, to see where everything is and what it is for.
Next , you'll need to add a cover photo . You can do this using a photo from your albums, or you can upload a new one and resize it as you upload it. 850 x 315 pixels is approximately the standard size for a cover photo. However, if you want a unique one, you can find hundreds on the Cover Photos website.
Things to consider :
Once you enable your timeline, you won't be able to revert to the previous design. The timeline will be automatically visible and enabled for everyone on December 22nd.
